General questions about the club
We play at the Queen Mother Sports Centre, 223 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London, SW1V 1EL, a few minutes’ walk from Victoria Station.
Every Friday evening, from 6pm to 9pm.
We currently have around 40 members and are particularly keen to recruit a few more ladies.
We are not an appropriate club for beginners and lower intermediate. To join the club you need to be of upper intermediate to advanced standard, to ensure competitive games of the appropriate level. In our experience that means:
- You’ve played badminton regularly for at least 5 years
- You’ve had some coaching
- You’re familiar with the principles and tactics of both mixed and level doubles
- You’re likely to have had some competitive experience, eg. league or university badminton
We currently have two men’s teams; one playing in the Hammersmith league and the other in the Middlesex league.
We use Chao Pai feather shuttles. We may also use other good quality feather shuttles as well.
Yes! Every Friday after club night we can be found in one of the local pubs or Market Hall – we take great pride in our club culture of being friendly and sociable with everyone that we play with. We also organise a Christmas and summer social.

No, we are a membership-based club and can’t accommodate PAYG players.
As a member of our badminton club, you don’t have to come every week, nor do you have to be there at 6pm, or stay till the end of the night. It is entirely up to you how often you come and how long you play.
We are private individuals getting together to play for fun, therefore we accept no liability for any loss or injury, however sustained, while taking part in club activities. If you want to cover yourself against injury to yourself or others, please make sure you have the appropriate insurance.
If you are interested in trying us out, please contact us with details of your standard and experience. We may invite you to join as a guest up to 3 times before deciding whether to offer you membership, to assess how you fit into the club, and to give you a chance to get to know us too.

You will join us on a normal club night and take part in the games. We may invite you to join as a guest up to 3 times before deciding whether to offer you membership, to assess how you fit into the club, and to give you a chance to get to know us too.
We’ll be in touch via email about next steps within a few days of your trial.
